The Aggressives are a subulture of inner-city lesbians who are unapologetic about their sexuality and who have boldly appropriated the dress code of boys. Many "pass" as males in their public presonae and day-to-day life, enjoying the freedoms usually associated with young urban males. The girls were photographed at an underground Manhattan club during one of their monthly balls. A catwalk competition is held where girls compete for such titles as "Best Butch Face", "Best Girl Face", and "Best Urban Sports Wear".
